Alutiiq artist Cassey Rowland learned to bead, sew, and work with wild plants as a child growing up in Alutiiq villages. She was mentored by many kind ladies who shared their knowledge and encouraged her to create. Rowland’s work is inspired by the natural beauty and Native culture of Kodiak.
